District Formation

August 1981

 

Enabling Authority

Acts of the 67th Legislature. On April 15, 1986, the District adopted Rules & By-Laws which became effective immediately. On February 21, 1989 the District adopted a Management Plan. The District rules were amended on November 21, 2023.

 

Aquifers

Edwards Trinity (Plateau) and a small portion of the Ogallala, also known as the High Plains.

 

Water Usage

Mostly agricultural and domestic, some municipal and industrial.

 

Data Collections

Water levels are obtained annual from approximately 60 wells located throughout the District. These wells are measured by District staff.
